BRIEF HISTORY
The Private Yahya Kemal College - Skopje is the first private educational institution in the Republic of Macedonia, which was opened by decision of the Government no. 23-2487/1 from 16.09.1996 year. Twelve years after the opening of the college, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Macedonia gave the college permission for realization of primary school education within the Yahya Kemal College as a pilot program, which launched in the academic year 2008/2009. The teaching is conducted in Macedonian and Albanian language, according to the curriculum programs that are implemented in the state primary schools in Macedonia. Emphasis is placed on the English language (with 10 lessons per week), with the teaching of the four skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) as a major priority from the earliest years. The school’s aim is to foster the development of a literate, articulate child, who is able to approach both spoken and written forms of communication confidently. Our primary goal as an educational institution is to educate generations of young people, positive, kind and tolerant in all segments of life, successful in dealing with the challenges of the modern world, well qualified and competent leaders of the society in the future. We offer standards of consistency in the terms of the quality of learning and achievements of high results, using modern educational technologies and allowing individual development of the students’ abilities and qualities. The vision of the school is based on the student rights and multiculturalism, the quality, effectiveness, health, safety and security in which all students will progress according to their individual capabilities. Our school is stimulating and secure environment tailored to the needs and interests of the students, an environment which is based on efficiency, modernity, quality and positive results. Our vision is to educate students with modern views of the democratic world, who respect others regardless of their religion and ethnicity.
Clubs -Since great attention is given to the free activities of the students we run extra-curricular clubs. Clubs are either run by teaching staff or qualified external coaches. The number of clubs will increase as the number of students i.e. interests get increased. Currently the following clubs are available:
Our school community is dedicated to providing a safe, secure and stimulating environment where all the children can develop their skills and talents in a variety of ways and to the best of their abilities.
Daily programme -In order to enhance, modernize and rationalize the educational process, our school implemented new teaching models and forms of work, as well as ways of connecting the school with the environment, which have a significant impact on the improvement of the educational system. The students are constantly under the vigilant supervision of teachers, always available to clarify any ambiguities over the curriculum content. The school hours are from 8.30 am to 15.20 pm, with the following schedule:
08.30 - 09.10 : I lesson

Cafeteria
The school has a cafeteria and a canteen, where the students have their breakfast and lunch.
Computer room -For the I.T. teaching needs there is a computer room with 25 computers, all of which are internet connected. This room is often used for other subjects teaching when needed.
School transport -We also provide school transport for the students.
Summer school -Immediately after the school year finishes a summer school is organised. It lasts for 2 weeks and includes teaching in a relaxed and entertaining environment, visits to interesting places and lots of fun.
